The Inherent Evil Nature of Man.

“Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble Is like a bad tooth and a foot out of joint.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭25:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Amongst other things COVID19 has achieved, it has mostly been successful at dividing the people and manifesting true colours of men. One of the core concepts of Christianity is that people are inherently evil and without Christ we will continue to do harm upon each other whether consciously or subconsciously. COVID19 has proven this.

With the number of people dobbing in their neighbours and snitching on their friends and family increasing, it’s no wonder society is fast becoming a cesspit of secrecy and lies. You just don’t know whom to trust. It is as Jesus predicted, ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’
(Matt 10:36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

With churches bowing at Caesar’s thrown, blindly following ungodly govt diktats clearly designed to divide and destroy church fellowship, whilst silencing open praise and worship, the people are like lost sheep without a shepherd. It has never been more important for the Christian to be rooted firmly in the Word than now.

We were forewarned of these coming times brethren. It is easy to be discouraged (angry even) by the injustice happening all around us. It is almost understandable to grow bitter and resentful of those blindly going along without question or thought. It’s tempting to look at those closest to us who have fallen for the lies and thrown friends and family under the bus with fresh hatred, and desire for revenge.

However to find true joy and peace in these times, let’s look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. He too was betrayed and lied about by those closest to Him. His response is truly liberating and once we let go of all the bitterness, anger and unforgiveness, we can truly love like He loved. It is possible to take pity on those driven by malice, strife, and envy.

There is no one innocent, not one. We are all inherently evil, and predisposed to sin. I dare say some are more than others. But no one is blameless. So if you find yourself in a place where you feel alone, that you can trust no one, and even those supposed to have your back, have thrown you to the wolves, take heart. Jesus experienced all that and more. Look to Him for truth and love. Justice will eventually come for those who trust Him, for those who love their enemies despite being used and abused by them. We will see His face and be like Him, if we endure the shame humbly, and never give up.

“If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the LORD will reward you.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭25:21-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
